Can’t really blame Allardyce, none were his players and he had 4 games.
Always on a hiding to nothing.

Re: The Unsinkable Mr Allardyce
i actually think southampton might be the best positioned of the 3. Known it was coming for a long time, already have their new manager appointed, a young squad that wasn't ready for PL but probably is for the championship - no one is going to take all their players.
The other two are a bit of a mess and a lot unknowns about who will be there, who the manager will be etc

According to BBC website report, Leicester are a bit stuffed financially even after they sell players and include parachute payments, so perhaps they won't run away with it.

Leeds shouldn't have got rid of Beilsa.
Leicester shouldn't have got rid of Rodgers.
Neither, especially Leicester would have gone down imho.

All depends who the relegated sides appoint as manager. Rumours of Leicester appointing Potter which I can see happening, they will run away with it if they do.

Re: The Unsinkable Mr Allardyce
I was saying it's a cliche when some say promoted sides will come straight back down, as stats show they generally stay up, all 3 from last season stayed up.

I agree with you about relegated sides. which is why you never want to go down, could be stuck down there for years. Think all 3 will find it tough, who have just gone down.

Re: The Unsinkable Mr Allardyce
Cliche or not, the three relegated sides won't have things easy. The Championship is highly competitive. But let's see how things go, it will be an interesting campaign.

ED - Agree about the promoted sides cliche, anyone who trots out ''they will go straight back down'' a day after being promoted you can right off as knowing fuck all about football, and being unaware of the actual stats.

Re: The Unsinkable Mr Allardyce
It could very easily happen. But your assertion that the Championship will be very hard because of those teams is just the same clichéd thing that gets trotted out every year, a bit like the promoted teams getting relegated.

The standard in the Championship isn't that great, hence why a team like Millwall, with a yearly team budget that wouldn't buy you Emerson, can almost reach the playoffs.

Re: The Unsinkable Mr Allardyce
Eerie, fair enough.

But storming the league is only going to happen if you're either lucky, or if you can keep your top players from the Premier League, or if you have a manager like Burnley did. Probably and/and/and instead of or. Can you see that happening for Southampton or Leicester or Leeds? I can't.

Eerie Descent 2:19 Mon May 29
Re: The Unsinkable Mr Allardyce
I don't agree with that, Coffee. The fact Coventry, Blackburn, West Brom, Sunderland, Boro were up there tells you the quality is not that great. If you get your shit together, like Burnley did, you can storm that league at the moment. Millwall's record signing is around £2mil, the teams going down wouldn't sign a back up keeper for that.

Coffee 1:40 Mon May 29
Re: The Unsinkable Mr Allardyce
Next season is going to be very tough in the Championship. The three relegated sides plus Coventry, Blackburn, West Brom, Sunderland, Boro and the annoying outsiders like Millwall. By the time Leeds and Leicester and Southampton have sold their crown jewels, there'll have little advantage over the rest. With or without BFS. Remember that he had probably the Championship's most accomplished collection of players when he took over at WHU and could still only manage third.

Re: The Unsinkable Mr Allardyce
If he doesn't you can guarantee it will be someone else's
fault.

A big club like Leeds, in the north, passionate fan base, is as good as the big fella will get now. Won't be surprised if it happens.

If they stick with him, he should get them back up. But it won't be pretty like with Bielsa.

Started with his bullshit about being Fat Pep or Porky Klopp but admitted that was to take pressure off the players
Started with a 2-1 defeat at City with them taking the ball into the corner at the end .... though if Haaland had his boots on the right feet it would have been 6-0.
Decent result with a draw v Newcastle but as said as soon as it went pear shaped the players & club were hurled straight under the bus

After his last effort at West Brom when he did have time I was a bit bemused that he was regarded as some sort of saviour.
His time has gone ... time to retire to spend more time with his fish heads
